Art Experiences for Young People
16 May 2018
The IMA is passionate about providing learning opportunities for both young people and adults through contemporary art.
We offer a tailored program for school, tertiary and community groups, alongside our regular programming of workshops, talks, tours, lectures and symposiums.
Loops and Knots: Weaving Workshops
Our free weaving workshop series Loops and Knots gives young people aged 15–18 years the opportunity to learn weaving techniques from a group of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Pacific artists. Participants will make a hand-made woven object and learn more about the cultural traditions and heritage behind the objects they create.
Workshop Dates & Facilitators:
1] Hannah Gutchen: Saturday 19 May, 11am–4pm
2] Sonja Carmichael: Saturday 26 May, 11am–4pm
