Artist Hannah Brontë is hosting a playful afternoon of banner making. Choose from vibrant fabrics and patterns, and toy with words to create your own powerful or humorous message to display proud.

Brontë is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brisbane who explores female empowerment in music videos, banners, performance and weaving, to challenge current societal structures and imagine matriarchal futures. Brontë uses banners to reflect the power of language and reclaim language as a feminist tool.

Join Brontë for a colourful and invigorating afternoon, with a discussion of the history of banner-making in political movements, and its relevance to Bronte’s feminist practice.

Tickets are $20 for IMA members, and $30 for non-members. Purchase your tickets for you and your friends on Eventbrite here.
