Maeve Baker
Do Your Chores, Try Not To Think Too Much, And Repeat

IMA Belltower Façade Projection
Maeve Baker‘s projection is a commentary on living through lockdown in 2020. Baker has used the existing lines and spaces on the Belltower façade to create rows of ‘windows’, through which we see people going about their domestic tasks. The animated loop initially holds the viewer’s attention and the colours suggest a feeling of playful lightness. Once the viewer has seen all of the different details, this playful lightness slowly turns into repetitive monotony. Through this work Baker comments on the ways in which people tried their best to stay busy at home during lockdown and endure the pandemic.
