Fourth Annual Gala Honouring Richard Bell

Each year the IMA’s Annual Gala is held in honour of a leading Australian artist, academic, or curator for their role in shaping the Australian contemporary art landscape as well as their connection to the organisation’s past.

The IMA is delighted to be holding our Fourth Annual Gala in honour of Richard Bell. One of Australia’s most significant artists, Bell’s work explores the complex artistic and political issues surrounding Western, colonial and Indigenous art production.

Richard Bell is a curious creature. Over the years he has been, and continues to be, ever-evolving. He gathers his ideas from engaging conversation. In the studio he works quickly, his artworks often coming in quick succession and on-the-fly. I am sure we all look forward to what comes next.

This year’s Benefit Auction boasts exclusive cultural experiences, alongside a full line-up of covetable artworks and objects by established and emerging artists and designers. The IMA has partnered with GalaBid—inviting collectors from across the world to place a bid online. Gala guests will also be treated to exciting take-home gifts and prizes thanks to Gala Partners The Cove Workspace and Barambah Organics.
