IMA Annual Party
28 October 2017
Each year the IMA celebrates the support of our community at our Annual Party. But this year our Annual Party is a little different—it’s themed! Dress up as an artist, artwork, or come as yourself. Our esteemed judging panel, featuring Gail Sorronda, Dirk Yates and Carl Dempster, will be dishing out prizes for the best dressed thanks to Newstead Brewing Co., Five Star Cinemas, James St, Bens Burgers, and A Love Supreme.
The party is FREE and IMA Members, IMA Friends, and Gallery Supporters can enjoy a complimentary beverage from Madfish, Newstead Brewing Co., and Splitrock/Tiro on arrival. Ben’s Burgers will also be on hand to keep you well fed.
It will be an evening full of excitement with the unveiling of the new IMA Courtyard Commission, Corps à Corps, created by Céline Condorelli with Pete Shields and Dirk Yates. The project is a co-commission with 11th Gwangju Biennale, with the support of the Keir Foundation and the Australian Government, Department of Communications and the Arts through Catalyst.
The recipient of the Jeremy Hynes Award 2017 will also be announced by Professor Susan Best. The Jeremy Hynes Award is the IMA’s bi-annual award supporting emerging experimental Queensland artists, made possible by a generous bequest made by the family of Jeremy Hynes in his name. Shortlisted artists are Naomi Blacklock, Michael Candy, Lucy Forsberg, and Elizabeth Willing.
Dress up, bring your friends and dance the night away to tunes supplied by A Love Supreme DJs!
