The IMA is pleased to present a lecture on Stuart Ringholt’s practice by Melbourne-based curator and writer Ulanda Blair on Thursday, 11 September, at 6pm.

Ulanda Blair is a curator at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) in Melbourne, as well as an independent arts writer and arts advisor. At ACMI, she curates exhibitions of contemporary art, film, animation and television. Prior to ACMI, she was Artistic Program Manager at Next Wave (20072011), and before that, Gallery Manager at Gertrude Contemporary (20042007). In 2012 she undertook an Asialink Arts Management residency at the Echigo-Tsumari Triennial in Japan, which followed her role as curator-in-residence at the inaugural Setouchi International Art Festival on the Japanese island of Teshima in 2010. In recent years, she has held ongoing advisory positions for Arts Victoria and Channels Video Art Festival, and she is both a Board Member and Editorial Advisor for Un Magazine. She has had over fifty essays and reviews published for local and international arts publications.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
