Mono returns in 2020 with deep listening and delicate audio explorations. Canada’s Crys Cole—known for her intimate, exploratory sound works, released on Oren Ambarchi’s Black Truffle label—returns to Brisbane. She premieres a new electro-acoustic work that combines electronics, field recordings, and subtle audible gestures. Joining her are Austrian sound crafter Werner Dafeldecker and Australia video artist Scott Morrison, who collaborate as Parallel Darks, a new sound diffusion paired with radically transformed video materials.

Werner Dafeldecker’s tour for Parallel Darks is funded by Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
