With border closures in place, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that Chris Abrahams won’t be able to join us for Mono: Offsite. (We’ll have him up later on, don’t worry!) In his place, Brisbane Festival is pleased to announce a triple bill of solo performances featuring Vanessa Tomlinson, Robin Fox, and Lawrence English. Tomlinson will extend her ‘Percussion at Dusk studies’ of deep gong resonation with an intimate solo piece for tam tam. Armed with a small modular and a laptop, Fox has prepared for his first solo audio show in almost half a decade. He doesn’t know what to expect, and neither should you. English’s love affair with the Old Museum’s organ has been well documented on numerous recordings, including this year’s Lassitude. He will present a special live version of his reductive exercise in minimalist organ manipulation. It’s a world premiere!
