Event Town Hall no. 3

Town Hall no. 3

Publication Launch

26 April 2025
12:30–1:30pm

There’s more going on in Queensland than you might think, but it can be hard to find without a map.

Join us at the Institute of Modern Art for the launch of Town Hall No.3 and a panel discussion.

Town Hall is a new free newspaper, published biannually by the Institute of Modern Art. It’s a unique project, gathering and profiling the brightest and best of Queensland art — art produced here, art coming here, art leaving here; established and emerging.

Town Hall No.3 features Queensland’s international stars, Michaela Stark and Craig & Karl, a roundtable on Australia’s Venice Biennale backflip, Tara Heffernan’s take-down of brain-rot art history, an interview with the 2025 Sydney Biennale curator Hoor Al-Qasimi, and much more.

Town Hall is free — available only in print. It’s distributed through galleries and museums, bookshops and cinemas, restaurants and cafes, libraries and art schools, hotels and fashion outlets across Queensland. Want to be a stockist? Let us know here.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
