Learn how to create a hanging sculptural mobile with contemporary jeweller Bianca Mavrick. Known for creating dynamic and sculptural works for the body with bold forms and colours, Mavrick will show you lo-fi methods of working with metal, using copper foil.
In this workshop, you will create objects from metal by embossing, cutting, folding, and painting. Starting from paper-cuts, Mavrick will show you how to create two-dimensional graphic motifs that will become three-dimensional forms in metal.
At the end of the workshop, take home your very own hanging sculpture!
This is a ticketed event with limited capacity. Purchase tickets via Eventbrite here.

Bianca Mavrick
Bianca Mavrick is a Brisbane-based contemporary jeweller with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Jewellery and Small Objects). She pits artisanal processes against industrial fabrication, resolving the two through handmade techniques that combine the precision of fine craftsmanship, while expressing a distinct maker’s mark. Offbeat colour combinations and graphic motifs are her calling card, expressed through her signature materials of colour-coated and precious metals, stones, and plastics. Mavrick’s work has been exhibited and stocked across gallery and design stores in Australia and internationally. Her work can be found at the IMA Gallery Shop, GoMA Store, the Museum of Brisbane Shop, and the NGV Design Store.
