Jeremy Hynes Award Guidelines

How to Apply

Applicants will need to submit their application to the IMA by midnight 8 August 2021.

The award assessors are looking for artists who are pushing artistic practice in new directions and show promise of dynamic and engaging careers as visual artists. We understand experimental art to encompass a wide range of artistic approaches and will consider the ways in which an artist is experimental within the histories of visual art and how each artist expresses experimentation and ambition in their own work.

Applicants will need to supply the following details:
—Exhibition proposal (Maximum 500 words)
—Outline how this proposal engages experimental practice? Describe how you are an experimental artist (Maximum 250 words)
—Artist CV (Two pages maximum. Upload as PDF. Please put your name in the file title)
—Artist Portfolio (Upload as five-page PDF. Maximum of 10MB. Please put your name in the file title)
—Website and video links (Please provide up to five URLs to relevant websites, or videos. Please provide link descriptions, and include passwords where relevant)

This year’s judges are artists Robert Andrew, Nina Miall, and an IMA representative.
