Sebastian Moody: 'Seeing'

IMA Belltower Façade Projection

2019

Seeing is a new temporary public artwork from Brisbane-based artist Sebastian Moody, developed in collaboration with Brisbane-based designer Sai Karlen. Somewhere between a list and poem, Seeing is comprised entirely of six letter words intended to create moments of contemplation on Brunswick Street.

IMA Belltower, a year-long program dedicated to Queensland art exploring the meaning of place, is curated by Freja Carmichael.

IMA Belltower at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts and the IMA are supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.

The Institute of Modern Art acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land upon which the IMA now stands, the Jagera, Yuggera, Yugarapul, and Turrbal people. We offer our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first artists of this country. In the spirit of allyship, the IMA will continue to work with First Nations people to celebrate, support, and present their immense past, present, and future contribution to artistic practice and cultural expression.
